In Drama Class, my students are often on their feet. They are also frequently serving as an audience for their fellows. It is important to give them a physical reminder - a signal to reinforce when they are performing and when they are watching supportively. The Fire Marshall says I have to get rid of the rug I bought for my classroom and I can't afford another one! As simple as it seems, a rug gives my students that necessary sense of structure - a place for them to start from, and a place for them to return to. One of the most valuable lessons students learn in Drama Class is how to support their peers as members of an audience. By donating to this project, you will be helping them learn a skill that will serve them for the rest of their lives.
