I'm on my third year teaching, my second year at this particular school and I'm still learning the ins and outs of managing my time. We've had a busy year, with so many highlights, one of the brightest being your contributions to our club. I started this group in my first year because I heard from kids with an interest in role-playing who didn't have a way of connecting with other players. We had no supplies and I had no idea how to even play D&D, let alone run a game, but I knew how much my weekly gaming group meant (and still means) to me. I hoped I could offer something similar to my kids. With your help, I've been able to have basic gaming supplies on hand for any occasion. When kids are in danger of being left out because a DM didn't show, I can teach them one of the games that we bought with your help. \r\n\r\nBefore I go, I thought I would share a letter I got from Alexa, one of my seniors:\r\n\r\n...you offered us a community where we can connect and make new relationships. the D&D club has impacted me and the rest of the students in ways that you probably don't know. Thank you for offering me the opportunity of connecting with other people and making new friends. I'm gonna miss this when I'm gone.\r\n\r\nThat was addressed to me, but we couldn't have brought to it's current stage without your assistance. You will be in our thoughts with every roll of our dice, with every beast we conquer and every dungeon we explore. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.\r\n\r\nWe wish you monsters and we mean that in the best possible way. \r\n\r\nMost Sincerely, \r\n\r\nMatt Schosser","fullyFundedDate":1733276228636,"projectUrl":"project/clear-out-the-dragons-clean-up-our-dun/8685143/","projectTitle":"Clear Out the Dragons & Clean Up Our Dungeons!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Schosser","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9695029_orig.jpg?crop=495,495,x23,y18&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724255748805","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9695029"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_124550","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1688,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":74,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":16.4,"schoolId":124550,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Great Crossing High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Great Crossing High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kentucky/scott-county-schools/great-crossing-high-school/124550"}
