As a special education teacher in Colorado, I pull small groups and I want a safe, inviting and enjoyable place for them to work and spend their time.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped in many ways. We now have a cozy corner where they can go when they are feeling upset or want a few minutes to relax before we jump into content. \r\n\r\nWhen it comes to instruction, I now have many resources and materials that allow me to better teach all students. \r\n\r\nMy students love coming into my classroom and I am so grateful that I can give them this space thanks to your donation.","fullyFundedDate":1785329893078,"projectUrl":"project/individual-strengths-individualized-sup/10170173/","projectTitle":"Individual Strengths, Individualized Support","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Atkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7622988_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y11&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651163285607","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7622988"},{"teacherId":8172023,"projectId":10342818,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping my students (and me) start the school year with everything they need. Because of your generosity, our classroom felt ready, welcoming, and full of possibility from the very first day.\r\n\r\nThese materials are used by or affect students every day. The lamps make such a welcoming environment, much calmer than the overhead lights. I can instantly see the calm wash over students when they enter. The pointers STILL bring excitement to students, and we're over six weeks in now! They cannot wait to read in front of the class and point to each word. Other materials just help the classroom runs smoothly--binder clips, whiteboard markers, are all essential in the every day. Having what they need in their hands means they can jump right into learning instead of worrying about what they don't have.\r\n\r\nYou gave my students more than school supplies. During independent work time during math especially, students who decide they need to focus set up their offices at their desks and settle in. Just yesterday, Kaylee was having a hard time not getting distracted asked for a private office. 20 minutes later she had finished a Zearn lesson! For many of my students, having a defined space to focus has made a real difference in their stamina, confidence, and independence.\r\n\r\nNext, we're promoting independence. I want students to know that when they need to get their work done, they can go get a private office themselves, and get to work. They have been quite a novelty, and I hope they start just being the norm. Your gift will support us every day as students build the focus, resilience, and self-belief they need to grow as learners.\r\n\r\nYou didn't just give my students a classroom tool. You gave them a space where they can concentrate, take risks, and feel proud of their work.
