Our GP students love the guiros especially the frog shaped ones. They were enchanted by the variety of guiros all over the world. There was the metal one that look like a cheese grater, plastic ones in different colors, all types of sizes, small to the largest. We did a lesson where all the students got a turn passing out and playing a guiro. We taught them a Japanese frog song where they scraped/arraspar the guiros to the croaking of the song. Students read independently, in small groups, and during whole-class discussions. They use their homework/parent communicator folders to take books home, track reading time, and reflect on what they've read.
