It directly answers each question and clearly shows the impact of your project on students:\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\nThank You for Supporting Our Classroom 💛\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students now have access to essential resources that support both their basic needs and their social-emotional growth. This project provided snacks for hungry students, sensory fidgets to support anxiety and ADHD, workbooks, social-emotional learning tools, and rewards for positive behavior support. These resources have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom community.\r\n\r\nWe use these resources every single day. The snacks have been especially impactful; students who come to school hungry are now able to focus, participate, and regulate their emotions more effectively. The sensory fidgets are used during independent work, transitions, and moments of anxiety; students often reach for them when they need comfort or help staying calm and attentive.\r\n\r\nOne powerful moment occurred during a small-group lesson when a student who typically struggles with emotional regulation independently chose a fidget, took deep breaths, and rejoined the group without disruption. The social-emotional learning workbooks and tools are now part of our daily routine, helping students identify emotions, practice coping strategies, and build empathy. Rewards for positive behavior reinforce these skills and encourage students to make responsible, kind choices. \r\n\r\nThe students were thrilled and genuinely excited. Their faces lit up when they saw the snacks and sensory tools, and many immediately expressed gratitude. Several students said things like, \"This helps me feel calm,\" and \"Now I won't be hungry in class.\" The excitement quickly turned into appreciation as they realized these materials were meant to help them succeed and feel safe at school.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using the social-emotional learning tools alongside academic lessons to strengthen self-regulation, goal-setting, and positive peer interactions. We are working on building independence and students are learning to choose the right tool or strategy when they feel overwhelmed or distracted. The positive behavior supports will continue to reinforce growth, helping students take pride in their progress both emotionally and academically.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students not just supplies, but comfort, confidence, and the tools they need to thrive. Your support truly makes a lasting difference in their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1761480001324,"projectUrl":"project/calm-minds-strong-futures-supporting-s/9854353/","projectTitle":"Calm Minds, Strong Futures: Supporting Social-Emotional Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cortijo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8012768_orig.png?crop=598,598,x113,y361&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1629832348351","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8012768"},{"teacherId":10329201,"projectId":9857086,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom. It allows us to safely and responsibly dispose of sensitive materials, helping our school stay organized and protect student privacy.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and generosity directly impact our students and our school community, and we are truly grateful for your support. It is helping building their confidence.\r\n\r\nAnother great part of my project were my literacy centers. The kit contained everything from main idea, summarizing and other essential skills. They immediately started brainstorming ideas for how they could use the resources in their learning, and were eager to dive in and start experimenting.\r\n The students are using the new resources daily. The flexible seating provides students a way to move, but still be seated and actively engaged. When students require additional instruction, I have the flexible seating positioned around my small group table so it's almost like an incentive to receive additional instruction instead of feeling like a punishment or singling out.\r\n For students' next steps in our classroom lesson or project, they generally move from exploring or investigating a concept to applying knowledge through developing a product. Typically, students gather their work collaboratively and then present their work to demonstrate their understanding of the content. \r\n Whether it be the flexible seating or the snacks, students have thoroughly enjoyed everything I have received from my donor's. It's the little things that mean the most to students and to see their excitement is like no other great feeling. Again, my students and myself are beyond grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1761667790190,"projectUrl":"project/help-the-special-education-world/9855660/","projectTitle":"Help the Special Education World","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. LeKites","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10328070"},{"teacherId":5236550,"projectId":9857095,"letterContent":"Thank you again for supporting our classroom! While the materials you provided were mostly snacks, they have made a meaningful difference for my students. We use the snacks during longer lessons, small-group work, and testing days, when students need extra focus and energy. One specific moment that stood out was during a small-group lesson—students were able to stay engaged, calm, and on task because their basic needs were being met.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snacks, their reactions were pure excitement and gratitude. Several students immediately smiled and said thank you, and a few were relieved knowing they wouldn't have to worry about being hungry during the school day. Having access to snacks helps create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment where students feel cared for and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these snacks will continue to support our current lessons by helping students maintain focus and stamina, especially during challenging activities and assessments. By removing the distraction of hunger, students can fully participate, take academic risks, and stay engaged in their learning. My 8th-grade class has truly enjoyed them as the project was geared toward providing them with a fun activity for the end of the day. The students were very excited and intrigued by the boomwhackers when we received them. Many recalled playing them when they were in elementary school while others indicated that they had never played boomwhackers before and that this would be a first for them.\r\n\r\nDuring our general music classes, students are learning about keeping a steady beat, reading rhythms, and identifying pitch. The boomwhackers have provided students with a means to learn these concepts and have fun playing their favorite songs with others. They enjoy choosing music to play and their excitement and smiles say it all. I have seen students who rarely participate engaged and laughing as they play songs using the boomwhackers. The uptick in overall engagement from all of my students has been astounding!\r\n\r\nIn the future, I hope to have students learn to play different musical pieces or create musical pieces on the boomwhackers that they can then perform during our chorus and band concerts for an audience. I think it is important for students to share what they have accomplished and created with others. I am hoping a project of that nature will encourage students to pursue other instruments or provide them with a creative outlet. Your donation has allowed my students to thrive in general music and provides them a means to practice learned musical concepts in both a fun and an entertaining way. From all of my students and me, thank you so very much for providing us with boomwhackers.
