My students absolutely love the I Survived series and enjoy reading them during book clubs where they can discuss the stories together. The iPad has given us various online programs and applications, and has significantly enhanced our students' ability to engage with instruction. We are so happy that we no longer need to sharpen pencils by hand and we are able to streamline our routines and allowed us to focus more time on meaningful learning. Our hands are also very grateful! \r\n\r\nIn addition to digital tools, our hands-on activities have played a crucial role in supporting students with tactile learning needs. These activities offer opportunities for increased engagement, focus, and sensory exploration, helping students deepen their understanding of concepts through active participation. This year I moved up to 5th grade after spending the past 24 years in the lower grades. I am loving 5th grade, but the move presented 2 big challenges. One was I have 25 or everything, not 33. The other is space! 33 big kids is a lot in one room. \r\nSo you might think stools and picnic blankets seems simple, but they allow me to expand our learning environment. The stools push under the table, saving space and creating a work space for students to meet as a group. They are also light enough for students to easily move around the room to create small groups or partners. We are fortunate to have trees and grass right outside, so students can set up blankets to sit outside to read or work with groups. \r\nI appreciate your support of my classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1756142684404,"projectUrl":"project/have-a-seat/9613406/","projectTitle":"Have a Seat","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Geis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp134886_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1504314850267","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-geis"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4079","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":801,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":42,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":31,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":36,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":9,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"36.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.3,"schoolId":4079,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Garin Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Garin Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/brentwood-union-elementary-school-district/garin-elementary-school/4079"}
