Our classroom currently has access, once a day, to a shared Chromecart. Two permanent Chromebooks in our room, will allow the students digital access throughout the day. While two devices are hardly enough to serve all 33 students each day, it is a wonderful start. When individual students complete assignments they can have the option to extend their learning through online curriculum programs on the Chromebooks, as well as to practice standards that they are struggling with. Students can also work in partners and small groups with the classroom Chromebooks to conduct research and create group projects. For my English learners, these Chromebooks will be an invaluable tool for developing language arts strategies and skills. Programs such as Reading Wonders offer a myriad of online resources that not only capture the attention of students but provide them with lessons that align with the Common Core State Standards that will help them grow as confident and successful learners.
