My students were absolutely thrilled to receive the snacks you provided! We used the donation to transform our classroom into a \"fake\" French café, where the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. To earn their treats, each student had to navigate the menu and place their orders entirely in French. Through this hands-on experience, they successfully mastered the vocabulary for les biscuits (cookies), les bonbons (candy), les bretzels (pretzels), and les croustilles (chips).\r\n\r\nThis project resulted in the highest level of engagement I have ever seen from my students. Beyond the vocabulary, the snacks served as a powerful bridge to real-world application. The students weren't just memorizing words from a textbook; they were using the language to interact, laugh, and enjoy a shared meal. Seeing them so motivated to perfect their pronunciation and grammar just to participate in the café was a highlight of our semester.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, your kindness had a profound emotional impact on the class. Many of my students were truly amazed that someone would go out of their way to support their learning. Some even shared that they didn't think people outside of our school cared enough to do something like this. Your gift did more than just provide a snack; it showed my students that their education is valued by the community. Thank you for making them feel seen and for bringing so much joy to our French studies.","fullyFundedDate":1765205060151,"projectUrl":"project/petit-djeuner-grand-learning-croissan/9586467/","projectTitle":"Petit Déjeuner, Grand Learning: Croissants in Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kurtyan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10174419"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_90745","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":918,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":48,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"22.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":53.8,"schoolId":90745,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Franklin Learning Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Franklin Learning Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/philadelphia-city-school-district/franklin-learning-center/90745"}
