Being that so many students at FHS come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, it's incredibly important to me that we bring as many real-world experiences into the classroom as possible. \r\n\r\nStudents learned about how robotics are used in agricultural practices, such as crop monitoring, harvesting, and even weeding. This project was carried out in my freshmen biology classes, many of whom have never tried coding before. Not only was this a fantastic opportunity for students to experience computer science first-hand, but informed them of the science behind simple technology issues, like a never-ending buffering laptop.
