We received our project a couple weeks before school was out for the summer. We did have our students open up the boxes and see what was inside. We have some students that will be returning next year and they are SOOO excited to start out the school year with some fun projects. \r\n\r\nOur students this year were able to use the magnifying glasses this year though! It was perfect timing as our butterflies were emerging out of their cocoons. They used the magnifying glasses to observe the cocoons and get a closer look at the butterflies. \r\n\r\nNext school year, we will be setting up the raised garden bed outside of our classroom. We will be learning about healthy foods and will be able to plant our own vegetables. Our goal is to maybe have a salsa garden so they can learn how to make their very own salsa. We have journals and brand new markers to help them draw pictures of the things they see while their vegetables are growing. What a great opportunity for them! \r\n\r\nWe also have some rocks and paint markers for when we learn about rocks. We thought it would be fun to put their rock art work in their garden at school.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for this incredible opportunity for our preschool children to learn through hands on learning!","fullyFundedDate":1776116787518,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-garden-giggles-and-p/10190951/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Learning: Garden Giggles and Painted Pebbles","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shannon Fritz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4967332_orig.jpg?crop=172,172,x0,y7&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1776104233657","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4967332"},{"teacherId":8933868,"projectId":9763915,"letterContent":"First, I want to start off by saying that we are beyond grateful for your donations! We are enjoying our new resources every day. We use them in small groups, during center time and at the end of the day for fine motor time. The dinosaurs are one of their favorites, they love using the tweezers to pick up the animals and move them to the correct color bowl. \r\n\r\nThe playdough, playdough tools, paper, stickers, hole punchers, and tape have been used to build their hand strength and control while they are creating their own creations. \r\nThe interlocking stars, stacking animals and stacking rocks are used to help build their hand-eye coordination. The lacing beads and Legos help us work on own grasp by using our pincher fingers. These resources are not only building fine motor skills, it is also improving their independence in self-help and building those friendship skills.","fullyFundedDate":1766777603538,"projectUrl":"project/busy-hand-bright-futures/9763915/","projectTitle":"Busy Hand, Bright Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stocke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8933868"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_113379","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":92,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":70.9,"schoolId":113379,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tazewell Woodford Family Center Head Start on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tazewell Woodford Family Center Head Start","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/office-of-head-start/family-center-head-start/113379"}
