When the new manipulatives arrived, the class immediately asked to start using them. One of my quietest students used the linking cubes to solve a missing addend problem and confidently explained her thinking for the first time. The tools you provided helped her—and many others—truly see the math and feel proud of their learning.\r\n\r\nWe now use these resources daily during centers, small groups, and math talks. Students build equations, model story problems, and collaborate using the new materials. As we move into adding and subtracting within 20, these tools will continue to support their growth and independence. Thank you for helping my girls develop confidence, excitement, and a real love for math.","fullyFundedDate":1757536648517,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-girls-to-love-math-through-ha/9436112/","projectTitle":"Empowering Girls to Love Math Through Hands-On Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mitchell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8619693_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y6&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1698333595472","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8619693"},{"teacherId":6852996,"projectId":8758934,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity in supporting my students through your donation to our DonorsChoose project. The resources you provided have made an incredible difference in how my students engage with science, and I'm excited to share the impact it's had.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting moments was when we unboxed the new materials — the look of wonder and excitement on my students' faces was unforgettable. They couldn't wait to dive in and start experimenting. The new set of lab tools, educational kits, and interactive resources have opened up a whole new world of hands-on learning for them.\r\n\r\nFor example, we recently worked on a project exploring trees. Using the new kits, students were able to build their own miniature ecosystems, observe plant and animal life cycles, and measure variables like temperature and light. The students were completely immersed in the process, eagerly making predictions, gathering data, and collaborating with each other. They asked insightful questions, investigated their own ideas, and even created presentations to share their findings with the class.\r\n\r\nWhen they first saw the materials, many of them were shocked. Some had never used such advanced tools before, and others were amazed by the interactive components that brought the lessons to life in ways they had never experienced. The enthusiasm was contagious, and it created a buzz of energy throughout the room.\r\n\r\nThe next step for our students is to expand their projects by analyzing the data they've collected and drawing conclusions about how ecosystems adapt over time. We're also planning to share our findings with the school community through end of unit studies celebration where students will present their projects and demonstrate their newfound understanding.\r\n\r\nYour contributions have given my students the resources they need to engage deeply with science and to develop critical thinking skills.
