I used the Polaroid during our Armenian heritage dance performance and took a picture of each student so they could take one home. We use a lot of technology in the classroom, but this felt different because it was something they could actually hold onto. It connected to what we were learning about culture in a real way, and it made the day feel important not just in the moment, but after too.\r\n\r\nThe kids were obsessed with watching the photos develop. Every time I took one, I had a group around me waiting for it to show up. They were so excited to see themselves, especially in their dance outfits after working so hard. It wasn't just about the picture... it felt like they were proud of what they did and wanted to remember it. A lot of them kept saying they couldn't wait to show their families.\r\n\r\nSome of my quieter students surprised me the most. Kids who usually don't want attention were really into it and took their time with their photo. A few of them kept looking at it over and over like it actually meant something to them, which it did. It was a small thing, but it made a big impact. Every student got to feel included and proud of themselves, and that's really what I wanted.","fullyFundedDate":1769177698508,"projectUrl":"project/capturing-our-5th-grade-story/9879241/","projectTitle":"Capturing Our 5th Grade Story","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kaddoura","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8933619_orig.jpg?crop=1143,1143,x35,y200&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739738317191","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8933619"},{"teacherId":2485103,"projectId":9787552,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for bringing these amazing books into our classroom.
