I teach in a Title I school which struggles to get the supplies needed for our students. My school has computer carts, but there are not enough for all students and they rotate through every grade! A Microsoft book will serve as a dual function of a computer and tablet for my students. A Microsoft book will help the students research, practice typing, create graphic design and much more! Students can also operate Dash, the robot through an app and use coding skills to maneuver it which is a STEM activity for students. Enrichment and reinforcement can be done through educational games and apps. The students respond well to technology and it really helps students advance their learning. The Microsoft book also gives students an outlet to explore all types of learning such as photography, editing, coding, typing, digital modifications and so much more. Overall, the computers will allow me to provide personalized learning, customized to each student's strengths, needs, skills, and interests. This opportunity will also help reduce the digital divide that presents itself to my students on a daily basis due to the limited access to computers at school and at home. Our society is very technology based and this is a fundamental skill the students need to develop in their educational journey!
