Because of your kindness, our school library has been enriched with engaging book series specifically selected for our K–5 students.\r\n\r\nYour contributions have made a meaningful difference in our students' daily learning experiences. With these new and completed book series, students now have greater access to stories that spark their imagination, strengthen their reading skills, and foster a lifelong love of books. Completing previously incomplete series has been especially impactful—students can now fully immerse themselves in stories without interruption, which has increased both excitement and motivation to read.\r\n\r\nIt has been wonderful to see students eagerly checking out these books, discussing their favorite characters, and recommending titles to their peers. Your generosity has not only expanded our library collection but also created new opportunities for literacy growth and joyful learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and supporting their educational journey. Because of you, my students now have access to headphones and whiteboard markers that we use every single day. The headphones have made a huge difference during independent work time, allowing students to focus on educational videos, listen to reading passages, and complete online activities without distractions. The whiteboard markers have been a game-changer during lessons—students use them to practice math problems, spelling, and brainstorming ideas in a hands-on, low-pressure way. One of my favorite moments was watching students eagerly solve problems on their whiteboards and proudly hold them up to share their thinking—it created an engaging and interactive learning environment for everyone.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were thrilled. The excitement in the room was immediate—students couldn't wait to use the headphones and loved having their own markers for practice. It made learning feel special and personal, and even my more hesitant learners were eager to participate. These simple tools have helped build confidence and enthusiasm across the classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these materials to support both independent and collaborative learning. The headphones will help them stay focused during personalized learning time, while the whiteboard markers will be used for daily skill practice and group problem-solving activities. We are excited to keep building on these routines and deepen student engagement. Your generosity has truly made a meaningful impact on our classroom, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1768062548131,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-are-in-short-supply/9990165/","projectTitle":"Supplies are in Short Supply!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shade","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5366550"},{"teacherId":8158543,"projectId":10011005,"letterContent":"My 4th graders have used the new seating choices EVERYDAY! This helps lead to more student engagement and productivity. \r\n\r\nWhen I first unpacked the new stools for our small group tables one student said, \" Oh those are so fancy!\". They immediately asked, \"Are those really for us?\" Watching them grab a book and settle into a cozy reading space was such a powerful moment. The bean bags have created a calm, comfortable reading corner that encourages students to slow down, focus, and truly enjoy independent reading time. I've already noticed students choosing to read longer and talk more enthusiastically about their books.\r\n\r\nOur new Scholastic News subscription has become a favorite part of our literacy block. Students love reading real-world articles that connect to science, social studies, and current events. The nonfiction text features and engaging topics spark rich classroom discussions and help build critical thinking skills. It has been exciting to see reluctant readers participate more confidently during partner discussions because the topics feel relevant and interesting to them.\r\n\r\nThe soccer balls have been a huge hit at recess! Many of my students come from low-income households, and having quality equipment makes a big difference. Recess is now more active and inclusive, with students organizing games, practicing teamwork, and building friendships. It's wonderful to see them running, laughing, and developing social skills alongside physical health.\r\n\r\nFinally, the lemonade mix helped bring our economics unit to life during our classroom lemonade stand project. Instead of just reading about supply and demand, students experienced it firsthand. They calculated costs, discussed pricing, practiced persuasive speaking, and reflected on profit and teamwork. When they saw their hard work turn into a successful \"business,\" their confidence soared. It made financial literacy real and memorable.\r\n\r\nNext, we are continuing to build on these experiences. Students are using Scholastic News articles to write opinion pieces and practice citing text evidence. Our reading corner remains a daily part of literacy instruction, helping foster a lifelong love of books. And after the success of our lemonade stand, students are brainstorming future classroom \"business\" ideas to deepen their understanding of economics and entrepreneurship.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just provide supplies — it created comfort, opportunity, movement, confidence, and authentic learning experiences for my students. There is nothing like the excitement of a third grader seeing their own hand-drawn monster or architectural model come to life. The 3D printer has transformed \"I can't\" into \"Look what I made.\" It bridges the gap between imagination and realization. \r\n\r\nBy supporting this project, you gave my students the tools to be innovators and makers, fostering a lifelong love for creation and showing them that their ideas have the power to take shape in the real world.
