We do a lot of hands-on activities for literacy, since the students are so young and having a piece of the book they can touch helps them engage, more books with pieces related to them will support their learning. We do a lot of writing on a variety of surfaces to get their fine motor skills strong and to encourage a variety of ways to express themselves to get them prepared to write and draw in their future academic careers. We have a music center that could also use some spicing up with new musical instruments. The purchase of these materials will help make my students able to explore STEAM and early literacy more effectively in the classroom.
