My school is a Title I school in Las Vegas, Nevada. About 80% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. We have decided to pilot the Accelerated Learning Model for the 2014-2015 school year. The ALM model groups students by ability in order to better meet each individual student's needs. I will be teaching the 3rd grade ALM class. My class will be made up of students that have performed above grade level and are in need of enrichment. This will be done through project based learning and thematic units based on the Common Core Standards.
