While many of our donors use technology at home, classroom technology works a bit differently. In our setting, it allows me to create materials that are flexible, visual, and tailored to how young learners actually process information. I can design, print, and adapt reading materials quickly, which means lessons respond to student needs in real time rather than relying on one-size-fits-all worksheets.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students has been seeing their work come together in spiral-bound notebooks made just for them. I was able to cut construction paper, print individualized reading passages on bright white paper, and organize everything in a way that felt personal and special. Students were especially motivated by color-printed reading materials. The visuals helped maintain attention, reduced frustration, and made reading feel inviting rather than overwhelming.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who typically struggle with sustained focus warmed quickly to these materials. Having their work neatly bound gave them a sense of ownership and pride. They were eager to revisit past pages and reread texts they had already practiced. Another highlight was using jumbo-sized chart paper so we could read together as a group. The enlarged text supported access for all learners and turned reading into a shared, interactive experience. Overall, this project didn't just add materials to our classroom. It changed how students see themselves as readers.","fullyFundedDate":1760721683078,"projectUrl":"project/big-print-big-confidence-in-reading/9763648/","projectTitle":"Big Print, Big Confidence in Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5028385"},{"teacherId":9726292,"projectId":9746194,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity in helping create My Cozy Little Reading Corner for my Transitional Kindergarten students. From the very first day it opened, students were drawn to the space and quickly made it their own. Each day, children curl up with a book, sit on the sofa with a friend to talk quietly, or lie on the carpet cuddling a stuffed animal while turning pages. Others relax with calming sensory toys as they explore books. The space has become so popular that we added pockets for students to place their name cards when they are working there, ensuring everyone gets a turn. When an administrator visited our classroom, she was impressed to see students independently using the area, calm, focused, and fully engaged with books.\r\n\r\nMy Cozy Little Reading Corner supports both literacy and social-emotional growth. When students feel tired or overwhelmed, they naturally go there to relax, reset, and read. Through daily use, students are building a love for books while developing essential literacy skills such as vocabulary, print awareness, comprehension, and independence. A reading corner may seem small, but it does big things, and because of you, our TK students have a safe, joyful place to read, learn, and grow with confidence.","fullyFundedDate":1759166322786,"projectUrl":"project/my-cozy-reading-corner/9746194/","projectTitle":"My Cozy Reading Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Sra. I have watched students who often hesitate lean in with confidence when the materials are introduced. One moment that stands out was during a guided lesson, when a student who usually needs maximum prompting independently engaged with the materials and remained focused throughout the activity. That kind of sustained attention and ownership does not happen by chance. It occurs when students feel supported and equipped with tools that meet them where they are.\r\n\r\nThese materials have allowed me to teach in a more responsive, inclusive, and joyful way. They support students as they navigate learning in two languages, build foundational skills, and develop confidence in their own thinking. Your generosity has made it possible for my students to experience learning as something they can access and succeed in, not something that feels out of reach. Thank you for being part of their growth and for investing in a classroom where every student is seen, supported, and encouraged to move forward.","fullyFundedDate":1758810480374,"projectUrl":"project/spanish-and-japanese-language-journeys/9741791/","projectTitle":"Spanish and Japanese Language Journeys","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5028385"},{"teacherId":9735868,"projectId":9602813,"letterContent":"I can't tell you how much your donations have helped my students and I this fall in Room 31, but I will try! Our school district, like many across the United States, has had to make cuts to support staff and supplies not directly connected to students. That means staff like reading and math interventionists and suplies like pencils, paper towels, and soap are no longer provided. Your donations helped us be more organized, more creative, and more comfortable (and healthy) as we tackle all the challenges of learning 5th grade standards in two languages in a public school. \r\n\r\nMany of the supplies provided were for organization. The book boxes have allowed students to keep their learning materials handy and organized. This way, we don't lose learning minutes to disorganized transitions between sciences, social studies, English, math, and Spanish language arts. I also have extra paper, pencils, and supplies the children need to draw for special projects and scratch paper during mathematics practice. \r\n\r\nWhen studying four to five subjects daily, students need brain breaks for art and alternative means of expressing their learning. The crayons, markers, pencils, and drawing paper allow students to create guides to worm composting, models of scientific processes, and posters of text structures describing themselves. \r\n\r\nNeuroscience holds research that the lower a student's affective filter, the more they will take risks and try learning activities without fear of making a mistake. I strive to make my classroom a second home to students, a class community where all students feel comfortable to try new learning tasks. All of this to say, the bean bag stuffing and new books make our class library a place to work, listen, and read. Thanks for making our class so comfortable and our library full of new books the students are excited to read.","fullyFundedDate":1758084751895,"projectUrl":"project/maestra-andersons-25-26-wish-list/9602813/","projectTitle":"Maestra Anderson’s 25-26 Wish List!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Anderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9735868_orig.png?crop=396,396,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725728446645","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9735868"},{"teacherId":6280286,"projectId":9840693,"letterContent":"Your donation has already made such a meaningful difference in our classroom. The Post-it chart paper has become an essential tool for modeling writing, building anchor charts, and supporting our daily lessons in a clear, visual way. Soon, students will begin their small-group research projects, and this chart paper will give them the perfect space to create posters and share their learning with confidence.\r\n\r\nThe triangular crayons have also been a wonderful addition—because they don't roll off the tables, students can stay focused and engaged instead of constantly chasing runaway supplies. They're easy to grip, durable, and perfect for our little learners.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for supporting our classroom.
