Your donation helped our students decorate their bags and use their creativity. They took time for self-reflection and reflected on their childhood remincscing on experiences that have shaped them and helped them become who they are today. They thoughtfully selected three items from home that represented them. \r\n\r\nStudents were very grateful to see the materials provided for them. Some of our students can't afford materials, so seeing the supplies provided for them put a smile on their face. This project provided our students with a meaningul opportunity to share their unique cultures, experiences, and life memories with one another. This project gave students an understanding of each other's different backgrounds that make up our classroom diverse community. We truly apprecite your support a million times. \r\n\r\nOur next project will be to create their \"Story of Self\" following a guideline with different questions. This will be a more in depth project to create a slideshow of their life which will include several pictures and students will become more vulnerable with one another about their childhood experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1746785917481,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-play-for-social-emotional-learni/9235832/","projectTitle":"Sensory Play for Social-Emotional Learning & Team Building","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ruiz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8163506_orig.jpg?crop=1170,1170,x0,y105&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726154357188","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8163506"},{"teacherId":10035173,"projectId":9378502,"letterContent":"When my students first saw the reward items you helped provide, their faces immediately lit up with excitement. Many of them began setting personal goals right away—determined to earn their rewards not only by solving problems correctly, but also by demonstrating persistence, collaboration, and a positive attitude toward learning.\r\n\r\nIn class, I've noticed a new energy and motivation during our lessons. For example, when we worked on challenging algebra problems, students who would usually hesitate to participate were raising their hands eagerly, knowing that their effort was valued. The rewards have transformed our classroom into a place where students encourage each other and take pride in their mathematical growth.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, we now have a sustainable system to celebrate both academic achievement and effort. The next step for us is to continue integrating these rewards into ongoing projects—such as our real-world math applications and group problem-solving challenges—so that students remain motivated throughout the year. This positive message is meant to inspire a sense of pride and empowerment, creating an atmosphere where students feel valued and encouraged from the moment they enter. It's not just a decoration; it's a daily affirmation that each student's actions, big or small, contribute to the school's vibrant, welcoming community. This welcoming gesture sets the tone for the day ahead and helps foster a supportive environment where everyone's contributions are recognized.\r\n\r\nThis year, our students have been thrilled to engage with hands-on resources like the spinning wheel and magnetic fishing poles, which have brought an exciting, interactive twist to their learning. These activities, thoughtfully themed and designed, have proven to be an excellent way to capture students' attention and keep them excited about learning. With so much emphasis placed on technology in today's classrooms, our students were feeling burnout from screen time and digital lessons. The shift to these tactile, engaging activities has brought a refreshing change of pace, and it's been heartening to see how much the students are enjoying the chance to move, play, and learn in a more active, kinesthetic way. Their increased enthusiasm and participation is a testament to the power of hands-on learning.","fullyFundedDate":1745847034372,"projectUrl":"project/bulletin-boards-that-inspire-activitie/9283616/","projectTitle":"Bulletin Boards that Inspire & Activities that Engage","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Field","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7191472_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1587297845878","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7191472"},{"teacherId":10035173,"projectId":9354254,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our project, Zoom In on Math Success. With your generosity, our classroom now has the tools to make math more visual, interactive, and exciting. The technology has allowed students to zoom in on key concepts, annotate their thinking, and share their problem-solving strategies with their peers. This has helped even our most hesitant learners feel more confident in participating because they can clearly see and explain their ideas.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students the most is how the new tools bring math to life. Instead of just solving problems on paper, they can now highlight steps, showcase multiple strategies, and make connections in real time. One of my quieter students, who rarely raised his hand before, now eagerly comes up to share his solutions using the projector because he feels empowered to \"show his math\" to the class. This has built a stronger sense of collaboration and community, as students learn not only from me but also from one another.\r\n\r\nYour support has given my students more than just technology—it has given them a spotlight where their voices and ideas shine. For example, during a recent group activity, students eagerly gathered near the math-focused wall displays to check their ideas and problem-solve together. It's been inspiring to watch them take ownership of their learning in such an interactive way.\r\n\r\nYour support has given my students a classroom they can feel proud of—a space where they are reminded daily that their learning matters. Your support made a real difference not only in what they were able to create, but in how quickly I could organize and distribute materials across three different subjects and classrooms. It helped me streamline our setup so students could get to creating right away.\r\n\r\nBeyond their regular classwork, students had the opportunity to participate in the Clark County Arts District competition and the Juried Voice Art Show hosted by Clark County School District, and XO Sphere. These experiences have energized our classroom and opened up even more opportunities for student artists. We are now excitedly preparing for a summer enrichment program that will continue to foster their growth. One of our seniors received a scholarship from the Nevada Clay Guild for $500 which will go toward his college education.\r\n\r\nMany of our students come from economically disadvantaged households and face ongoing financial challenges. The standard $25 course fee, especially with inflation driving up supply costs, is often out of reach. In some cases, a student might need a pencil from our art room to participate in their math class. This makes it difficult to keep our classroom stocked with the materials needed for large, ambitious projects—projects that give students a chance to be seen and celebrated in the broader art community, just like their peers in more well-resourced schools.\r\n\r\nArt may not always get the spotlight like sports, technology, or science, but for my students, it is just as vital. It gives them voice, confidence, and the chance to earn recognition, scholarships, and prizes that support their academic and personal growth. Your donation reminded them—and me—that the art world is bigger than we often realize, and that they have a place in it.\r\n\r\nThe culture of our classroom is transforming. Students are helping one another, cheering each other on, and pushing themselves creatively. I've never seen such camaraderie and mutual support. They are beginning to believe that their artwork doesn't just live inside our classroom—it belongs out in the world, for their community and even future generations to see.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make that belief a reality.","fullyFundedDate":1739367636023,"projectUrl":"project/paint-canvas-and-paper-for-painting-st/8877209/","projectTitle":"Paint, Canvas, and Paper for Painting Students, Exciting News!!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Vazquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9803900_orig.jpg?crop=2077,2077,x457,y1314&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734035060921","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9803900"},{"teacherId":8180485,"projectId":8721325,"letterContent":"I want to express my gratitude for choosing to donate to my classroom.\r\nWith the ever changing political climate it has become even more evident that my classroom needs to remain a safe space.
