My students will benefit from our project by giving them the tools they need to create and share research projects in their groups. An innovative HP laptop will allow me to have access to programs and interactive lessons to share as I work with individual stations within the classroom. I will be able to track data and create and assign lessons as we move around the classroom and within our groups, which, in turn will help me to execute better classroom management. This laptop will expose my kiddos to a new way of learning and help them stay organized and up to date with classroom due dates and important events at school. I want them to be aware of, and know how to navigate programs such as Studious, which helps organize their classes, homework, and exam schedules. Most of my students are interested in moving on to a magnet school after 8th grade. My goal is to prepare them for the challenge they will encounter in high school. Being able to access and learn how to create Prezis and PowerPoint presentations within their groups will empower them with the skills and confidence they will need to thrive academically. We live in a digital world, and a digital classroom is key in reaching their highest potential. The flexible seating beanbag chairs will allow my students an alternative to sitting at their desks for independent reading and daily assignments. Through flexible seating, I have seen an increase in collaboration, communication, and motivation in my classroom. I have recently discovered an App called Personal Zen, which is clinically proven to reduce stress and anxiety by playing a game. This could be offered in their groups as a “brain break” since we are on block schedule and have 90 minute classes.
