This small but mighty addition has already made a huge impact. My students and I use it as a gathering space for math talks, group discussions, and social emotional learning! One of my favorite moments so far was watching a group of students spread out on the rug during partner math practice—they were so engaged, leaning in and helping one another problem-solve.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the rug rolled out, they got excited. They immediately asked if they could sit there and play math games. Several of them even commented that it makes our classroom feel \"more cozy\" and \"like home.\"\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my students now have a space where learning feels comfortable, collaborative, and fun. Right now, we are diving into geometry, and the rug has become our go-to spot for small group practice and student-led explanations. It's incredible to see how this simple resource creates opportunities for deeper connection and focus.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly made a difference, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1754792702646,"projectUrl":"project/community-carpet/9543836/","projectTitle":"Community Carpet!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Capps","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10114641"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36137","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":317,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":55,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"15.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":81.8,"schoolId":36137,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edison Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Edison Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/centralia-school-district-401/edison-elementary-school/36137"}
