With the addition of the carpet with 24 seating spots in my room, I will have a definite area for my class to sit up front (known as the community carpet) close to the whiteboard for efficient instructional time. By having the 24 marked spots, it will make transitioning my students to the carpet easy by already having marked spots for them to sit. Being able to have a carpet for my students to sit on during whole group and small group instruction, especially one with 24 seating rings, will not only allow my students to be closer together to interact with the assignment, but also allow for a spot to build a community together and be able to have class meetings and discussions. Also, with the addition of the pencil sharpener, my students will be able to sharpen their pencil in a quick and efficient manner. Then, students will be able to go on with their work right away and not waste time. Both of these items would be so beneficial for my students to have in the classroom.
