Since receiving these materials, I have seen such a positive impact on my students and their learning.\r\n\r\nThe addition of the flexible seating, especially the stools, has transformed our small-group time. My students are more comfortable, focused, and excited to join me at the table. There is a sense of community during our lessons now—students are eager to participate, collaborate, and take risks in their learning.\r\n\r\nThe materials have also allowed me to better meet each student's individual needs. I am able to provide more targeted instruction, helping students strengthen their fluency and close gaps in their understanding. I've seen their confidence grow as they experience success, and that confidence is carrying over into their independent work as well.\r\n\r\nWhat has meant the most to me is seeing my students feel proud of themselves. They are more motivated, more engaged, and more willing to try—even when the work feels challenging. Your support has truly made a difference in creating a classroom where students feel comfortable, capable, and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible for my students. Because of your contributions, my students have been able to use engaging reading comprehension games that have truly transformed the way they experience reading.\r\n\r\nBefore introducing these games, many of my students approached reading with hesitation. Comprehension felt like a chore, and it was often difficult to keep them motivated and confident. Since incorporating these interactive tools, I have seen a remarkable shift. Students are now excited to read, eager to participate, and more willing to take risks in their learning.\r\n\r\nThe games have helped strengthen essential skills such as identifying main ideas, making inferences, and understanding vocabulary in context. More importantly, they have made learning feel fun and accessible. Students who once struggled to stay focused are now actively engaged, collaborating with peers, and celebrating their progress.\r\n\r\nI've also noticed a significant improvement in reading confidence. Students are asking deeper questions, discussing texts more thoughtfully, and demonstrating a stronger understanding of what they read. Because of these donations, our classroom feels more dynamic, inclusive, and full of curiosity—and our students are truly thriving.\r\nThe reaction from the students was immediate excitement, especially when they discovered the I Survived series and the biographies. By physically exchanging tens for ones, the student was able to see and explain the process step by step—something they had not been able to do before. Moments like this are becoming more common as students use these tools to build a deeper understanding.\r\n\r\nThe dry erase boards and markers have also encouraged students to take risks and try new strategies without fear of making mistakes. The new resources have helped allow my students the opportunity for repetitive practice in reading and in math skills.\r\n\r\nMy students have been working hard the first two marking periods on their reading fluency. The timers that were donated have allowed my students opportunities to practice what it feels like to read fluently in a minute. This tool allowed 80% of my students to meet their individual reading fluency goal on their middle of the year assessment. 100% of my students grew in their reading this year with the help of the pocket charts. The dry erase pocket charts allow students to reuse papers for extra practice. Repeated readings help build confidence in reading.\r\n\r\nIn math my students have been using the pocket dry erase charts and dry erase markers with our workplace games. These hands on games allow students to build upon their place value skills, math fact fluency, and with skip counting activities. Repetitive practice helps build their confidence and become more fluent in math. \r\n\r\nOne of my students favorite donation is the digital clock. We talk about analog and digital clocks often in second grade. They love to compare the clocks and use it for time management. The digital clock is great to allow equitable access, allowing all students to know what time it is, even if they cannot read an analog clock. \r\n\r\nThe students and I are very thankful for the donations to help make our day run smoothly.","fullyFundedDate":1760304230234,"projectUrl":"project/support-engagement-for-all-by-helping-wi/9816639/","projectTitle":"Support Engagement for All by Helping With the Basics.","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Clavette","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10308496"},{"teacherId":3316744,"projectId":9817423,"letterContent":"I truly cannot thank you enough for the contributions you have made towards literacy in my classroom. The variety of texts has also helped us meet different reading levels, so every child can feel successful and challenged.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is a joyful, busy time. You might see students curled up with a book during independent reading, reading with a partner, or sharing their thoughts during group discussions. The room feels calm, focused, and excited, especially when students can't wait to turn the next page.\r\n\r\nSome students who were once hesitant readers are especially enjoying these new books. Thanks to your generosity, my students now have access to Spanish books for our classroom library, hands-on science center materials, and fidgets that have transformed both learning and the classroom environment.\r\nThe Spanish books have had an immediate and powerful impact. Many of my students are learning to read in Spanish for the first time, and having engaging, age-appropriate books in their home language has made them feel confident and excited to read. I've seen students proudly choose books, reread their favorites, and recommend titles to classmates. Our library has become a space where students feel represented, motivated, and eager to grow as readers.\r\nThe science centers have brought a new level of curiosity and engagement to our classroom. During center time, students worked hands-on to explore, observe, and discuss scientific concepts. I was especially struck by how focused and collaborative they became—students asked thoughtful questions, explained their thinking to partners, and showed perseverance when experiments didn't work the first time. These moments helped them see themselves as scientists and problem-solvers.\r\nThe fidgets have also made a meaningful difference, particularly for students who need extra support with focus and self-regulation. I noticed that students who previously struggled to stay engaged were better able to concentrate, participate in discussions, and complete tasks. The classroom felt calmer, more inclusive, and more supportive of different learning needs.\r\nBecause of you, my students are learning in an environment that values curiosity, inclusion, and joy.
