Even at this age, there's something special about opening a box filled with colorful scrapbook paper, vibrant markers, and creative embellishments. Many immediately began talking through ideas — which moments from their lives they'd share, how they'd incorporate family photos, and the best way to capture memories that mattered to them. It was clear from the very first day that these materials would spark meaningful work.\r\n\r\nWe've been using your generous gift to create personal memoir albums, blending reflective writing with creative design. One student shared a powerful story about immigrating to the United States and decorated her pages with maps and cultural symbols. Another honored a late grandparent by pairing photos with recipes and handwritten letters. Watching my students carefully choose their words, colors, and layouts has been inspiring; they're learning that their voices, experiences, and dreams have value and deserve to be preserved.","fullyFundedDate":1747143630592,"projectUrl":"project/telling-our-story/9206340/","projectTitle":"Telling Our Story","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cochrane","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9765549_orig.jpg?crop=542,542,x576,y542&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743617376449","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9765549"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_6410","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1800,"numTeachers":89,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":6,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.2,"schoolId":6410,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Easley High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Easley High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/pickens-county-school-district/easley-high-school/6410"}
