The seat sacks and caddies help each student keep their materials organized and easy to access, which has really improved our transitions and work time. My students were especially excited about the crayon sharpeners—they love being able to take care of their supplies and keep their crayons ready to use.\r\n\r\nOne moment that really stood out happened during our literacy and math stations. Students used the new station games while others worked at the whiteboard easel to practice sight words, letter sounds, and building simple sentences together. The books also help grow the brains of my early readers who are working hard to read and read fluently. \r\n\r\nThe new carpet and cushions help us work on our personal space. It gives us enough space for everyone to sit comfortably and not have other students in our space. The cushions are beneficial for those who want to read a book or use their game time they earned on their iPads. They help students grow the love of reading and getting their iReady minutes done so they can use a fun cushion. Instead of worrying about sharing materials, they can fully immerse themselves in Brian's journey and experience the story in a personal and meaningful way.\r\n\r\nThrough this novel, students are developing essential literacy skills such as analyzing character development, identifying theme, making inferences supported by text evidence, and expanding vocabulary through context. We also study the author's craft—how suspense is built and how vivid imagery brings the wilderness to life. Reading in our classroom is active and collaborative: students participate in thoughtful discussions, keep response journals, engage in literature circles, and sometimes sit in complete silence, fully absorbed in the story.\r\n\r\nThe survival theme has especially captured the interest of some of our reluctant readers. Students who were once hesitant to participate are now eagerly sharing predictions and insights. Having their own copy has boosted confidence, allowing struggling readers to reread challenging sections at their own pace. Students enjoy being able to move while they learn, and many proudly explain that the seats help them \"pay attention better\" or \"feel calmer.\" The colorful headphones are also a big hit. Students love choosing their headphones and using them during work time, which helps learning feel positive and motivating rather than restrictive.\r\n\r\nThese tools also support a more inclusive and equitable classroom environment.
