Because of you, my students now have access to a class set of magnetic letter tiles that we use almost every day during reading and word work time.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students excited to open the box and see what was inside. They want to knwo what the tiles were for and immediately wanted to explore them. The students couldn't wait to start building words. They were amazed that the tiles were magnetic and weren't slidding around once placed on the mart. Seeing their enthusiasm reinforced how powerful hands-on learning can be, especially for young readers.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the magnetic letter tiles in small groups and whole-class lessons to practice encoding sounds into words. I saw a lightbulb go off for some of my struggling readers and writers during a phonics lesson when students were asked to build CVC words. They were able to successfully spell and read words by manipulating the tiles. Watching their confidence grow as they independently produce words makes them want to learn more and proudly shared their words with classmates.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include using the magnetic letter tiles to build multisyllable words, practice word families, and explore spelling patterns during guided reading. This tool is also helping students during story writing. They ask to use the letter tiles to help sound out words that are difficult for them to spell. These tools will continue to support our literacy instruction throughout the year as students grow into confident readers and writers.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students the opportunity to learn, explore, and build confidence in their reading skills. Your support has made a lasting impact in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1757691000631,"projectUrl":"project/magnetic-minds-building-words-building/9649026/","projectTitle":"Magnetic Minds: Building Words, Building Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kim","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4041706"},{"teacherId":10334128,"projectId":9861426,"letterContent":"The impact that you have made for our classroom and each of our students is going to make an impact for this school year and the rest of our students lives. Your generosity has brought meaningful tools that have helped my students feel more confident identifying and expressing their emotions. Every day, I have children requesting to utilize our \"Calm Corner\" to help them identify and manage their feelings while sitting comfortably in the chairs and utilizing the variety of materials to help them.\r\n\r\nThe plush emotion toys, posters, and storybooks you helped provide have quickly become an essential part of our classroom. Students use the Pineapple-Deluxe and Big Feeling Carrot sets to show how they're feeling to help them express their feelings. The \"A Little Spot of Emotion\" plushies and the \"Fill a Bucket\" storytelling materials have encouraged even my quietest students to open up, share their experiences, and connect emotionally with their peers. These resources are helping them build emotional vocabulary, practice empathy, and understand that all feelings are okay.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom is becoming a safer, calmer, and more connected community. My students are learning not only how to regulate their emotions, but are also communicating kindly, and support one another. They are using the calming strategies to help themselves and their friends not only in the classroom, but in other places in the school as well.
