Our classroom is in need of the basics!!! I am the 5th grade science teacher at our school. When we work on science experiments students need to come to the supply table and get supplies such as beakers, graduated cylinders, test tubes and so on. Having them come to the supply table takes precious time from doing the experiment. Having the Lab Trays will be essential to making our science experiments run smoother since I can have all the trays ready with supplies. My students are hard workers therefore, I give them a chance to express themselves through art. Every year 5th grade student take a trip to the Norton Simon Museum. One of the projects I have them do is to choose their favorite piece of art they saw and express themselves by replicating the art work in their own way. My students are always very creative and use different types of art media such as markers, oil pastels, and paper. However, it takes a long time for my students to complete their art work due to waiting on a specific marker or oil pastel since we do not have enough for 36 students to share. One of the students favorite art piece is The Three Musicians. My students love to recreate The Three Musicians by cutting paper and pasting it on to a larger piece of paper. This project takes them a long time due to not having enough scissors and glue sticks. My 5th graders enjoy working with dry erase boards during small group instruction, especially when they think-pair-share with each other to solve math problems. At this time our classroom only has 3 dry erase boards. My students will be delighted to have more dry erase boards so they can all solve math problem.
