Students oohed and aahed as we opened the boxes to see our new supplies. They were immediately motivated to engage in thoughtful and careful work when using our new fancy materials. They painted sweet portraits of our newly hatched chicks with our new watercolors on the watercolor paper and then wrote all about how chicks hatch with our new fine tipped markers. They used the tissue paper squares to create collages reminiscent of Romare Bearden, integrating our shape study in math with our artists from the past vs. present study in social studies. The students' quality of work rose to reflect the quality of our materials. \r\nThank you for choosing to support our class as we expand our minds and hearts. Your generous act inspired students to pay your kindness forward by making beautifully framed portraits of their families to surprise them.
