The AP Test Review books are a big benefit to my students as they prepare for their AP Exams. During the school year, they will use these books as references to provide different explanations for the topics we are studying. They also give examples and practice problems to help students practically apply those concepts to solve problems. At the end of the year, these books give the students practice tests so they can prepare for their exams using problems that are just like what they will have to do on the exam. These books will fill in the enormous gap that was left when the College Board changed all their tests last year and my previous AP Test Prep Books became outdated.\r\n\r\nIn my Physics classes, these books help students with the literacy and evidence-based changes that the College Board has made to the course. There is a new emphasis in the course on making carefully worded arguments rather than just solving mathematical problems. They are also requiring these arguments to be carefully crafted with evidence supporting those arguments. The College Board also likes to ask fairly simple questions in more challenging ways to make sure students actually understand the concepts. These books will help the students improve their reading and writing skills in Physics to meet these challenges.\r\n\r\nIn my Computer Science classes, these books will help the students get used to reading the longer format questions the College Board tends to provide on the CSA Exam. They will also help the students practice writing longer free response questions based on prompts given by the College Board. Also, the questions on the exam are often worded differently than a question a teacher might ask them, so getting used to the format of the exam can be very useful. These books will help the students improve their reading and writing skills in Computer Science to meet these challenges.","fullyFundedDate":1760836885767,"projectUrl":"project/practicing-literary-skills-in-stem-cours/9838897/","projectTitle":"Practicing Literary Skills in STEM courses: Preparing for the Future","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lancaster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7677251_orig.png?crop=387,387,x42,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760704279537","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7677251"},{"teacherId":1259141,"projectId":8741684,"letterContent":"My greatest joy as a librarian is when a student who claims that they do not enjoy reading is captured by a book. They often claim that they have not read a book they liked since they were children. Boy do I love this challenge! Graphic novels often serve as the re-entry point for those reluctant readers into the world of literature. During the last couple of years in the library, students would walk by our graphic novel section looking disappointed at our slim pickings. When these graphic novels and manga items arrived, I \r\n had good reason to expand our shelving area in order to showcase these awesome additions. \r\n\r\nEven before I could get the books on the shelves, students saw them behind my desk and were so excited to get their hands on them. Now, instead of, hearing, \"you don't have much manga,\" I see students bringing their friends in to grab the first in a series while they take the next. These books are rarely on this new shelving space that I created, and I could not be more grateful. Thank you SO much for helping me foster a love of learning in my school.","fullyFundedDate":1733251552431,"projectUrl":"project/manga-madness-growing-readers-with-high/8741684/","projectTitle":"Manga Madness!
