Your generosity means more to me than you may realize. Teachers often spend money out of their own pockets to provide the supplies and resources their students need, so having others step in and support our classrooms is such a blessing.\r\n\r\nAfter my first year of teaching, I realized how important organization and preparation would be for my second year. I knew I wanted to step up my game, create a more organized classroom, and feel more prepared for my students each day. Your donations have helped make that possible.\r\n\r\nI am especially thankful for the colorful paper that I am using to create decodable readers for my students and for the paper organization shelf that is helping me keep all of my math papers organized and ready to go. Every donation, big or small, has helped make my classroom feel more put together and functional.\r\n\r\nBeing organized gives me confidence as a teacher and takes away some of the stress that can come with trying to prepare everything on my own. More importantly, these donations allow me to spend more time focusing on what matters most—teaching my students and helping them learn and grow.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting my classroom, believing in what I do, and helping me feel more prepared and equipped for this school year. My students are more motivated to submit their work on time because they get to choose something out of the treasure chest or they can choose a sticker. My students absolutely love to read on the bean bag. It is utilized every single day. This creates joyful readers! They also like to sit on the zebra rug. They like it because it is very soft and comfortable. \r\nI've done more hands on activities with my classroom this year than ever before. We participated in a recycling bottle cap art project. As a class they made Oklahoma's state fish completely out of recycled bottle caps. Each student also made a replica of Native American homes that were displayed out in the hallway. \r\nStudents will collect items from the playground to put under the microscope. One of them recently found a dead butterfly and they were able to see its wings up close. It's really neat seeing their wheels turning and being excited about learning. \r\nThe whiteboard beside my promethium board has been very useful when I am teaching. I'm able to put up weekly vocabulary words on there as visuals, as well as writing problems out that I am wanting to leave on there for students to use as a reference. \r\nI'm looking forward to the other projects that my students will be doing in the spring that were donated. When students are engaged and having fun, they aren't even realizing that they are learning. Thank you for creating a fun environment for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1755709610734,"projectUrl":"project/expanding-minds/9514297/","projectTitle":"Expanding Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Connolly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9131029_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691352647800","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9131029"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_86679","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":168,"numTeachers":3,"percentFrplEligible":63,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":50,"percentIndigenous":27,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":13,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"56.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":65.9,"schoolId":86679,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Coleman School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Coleman School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/coleman-public-schools/coleman-school/86679"}
