My students will be able, through these materials, to understand and empathize with other cultures. They need to be exposed to all types of culture in order to help them feel that kids around the world (in all cultures and in all eras) are basically the same—with the same needs, longings, problems, and struggles. This will help the students in our (mostly) homogeneous part of the state get outside of their comfort zones and view the world through a different perspective. I think broadening our minds through reading good literature is helpful for all!

About my class
