We spend a lot of time working through problems on whiteboards, making mistakes, erasing, and trying again. Having plenty of supplies means students can focus on the math instead of worrying about whether they have what they need.\r\n\r\nThe heavy-weight sheet protectors are especially useful because they house the answer keys my students use in class. When a student is absent, I can send the answer key home with them so they can work through the material and catch up. We also use graphic organizers regularly, so having the materials to make those available is a big help.\r\n\r\nThe pencils, printer drum replacement, and toner are just as important. Pencils are used every day, and the printer supplies help me keep the materials coming for my students. Every student, no matter where they were sitting, could clearly follow along and stay engaged in the lesson. \r\n\r\nWe've been using the large rulers, protractors, and compass to model geometric constructions and relationships in a much more interactive way. They've been especially helpful as we've explored special right triangles and working with circles. Being able to construct figures in real time on the board (accurately and clearly) has helped students better visualize concepts like angle measures, side ratios, and how a compass creates consistent radii.\r\n\r\nOne powerful moment was during a lesson on special right triangles, when students could clearly see how the side lengths relate as I constructed and labeled the triangle step-by-step. It sparked great discussion and deeper understanding.
