The project we're designing for our students and our 5th Grade Team will be called the Comet Creativity Corner. We want to give our truly outstanding students a comfortable meeting place outside of the normal classroom. There they may have the spacing requirements necessary to practice safe and healthy social distancing. This room will be full of light and spark great thinking and brighter ideas. Our teaching team will also be inspired as we meet there to develop great plans for creative learning approaches for all our students. These Surf Portable Lap Desks will enhance learning as our 5th graders meet, study, research, and collaborate on projects with students from other classes. They will share books they are reading and discuss assignments together. While they're working in the Creativity Corner, students will have opportunity to use the laptop stand and writing Table and work comfortably on these kid-friendly travel-friendly desk trays. Our hope is that our students find these wonderful desks conducive to helping them approach science, social studies, language arts and math from a posture that sparks great learning. This space and these desks will also provide for enrichment and remediation in small groups as needed. The desks and their rack will provide a chance for students to grow into a unified community. They will gain more responsibility for taking care of their Comet Creativity Corner. It will be up to them to clean and store the desks in the storage rack and make sure all the equipment used is sanitized, maintained, and stored properly.
