The headphones and rug have been such an amazing addition to our teaching space and classroom environment. These tools have already been so beneficial in the short time we have had in school.\r\nThe rug has not only made the classroom more warm and welcoming, but it has also given my students a space to complete work. Many of my students work best and focus better using multiple modalities of learning. By allowing them to complete tasks on the rug rather than their seat, I have seen such engagement and an increase in work completion.\r\nThe headphones have been wonderful for completing our online beginning of the year assessments. Many of my students are not fortunate enough to have headphones that they feel comfortable wearing, so they were so excited to be provided with this tool. We reflected on how tiles and modern pixels are often used to construct imagery and patterns. \r\n\r\nTo create our mosaics, we planned from the \"grout\" up using math. What mathematical areas did we want to cover? How big are the tiles, and how many would we need? How big should gaps between tiles be, and how would we revise our designs and plans knowing this?
