So even just buying classroom supplies was a burden for me. In spite of these challenges, I didn't want to sacrifice my Japanese class. My students deserve the same amount of care, energy, and resources in the classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen I was notified that my project got funded in October, it really made my day. It was a much needed bright spot of the year. When the items started coming in to my classroom, my students' eyes sparkled with curiosity and joy. They no longer had to use and share white board markers that barely worked! This alone got my students very excited. As I kept opening and unpacking the boxes, my students commented, \"Oh wow! Did you get new index cards?\" \"Yay! You got more pencils!\" It was very delightful to see the kids light up about seemingly small items such as pencils.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity and kindness, my students are well prepared to continue to learn a very challenging language, Japanese, in my classroom. Although many people use technology every day, its role in schools—especially in a high-needs setting—can look very different. The class set of wired headphones has become one of our most valuable tools. Students use them to access personalized, interactive lessons that allow them to attempt problems and receive feedback at their own pace. This has been especially helpful for students who benefit from repeated practice or who may have started the year with gaps in their math skills from previous years. Students have shown increased focus with the use of headphones and are now working more independently without constant supervision.\r\n\r\nThese tools have also helped students build responsibility. They use the alcohol wipes to clean their headphones after each lesson, treating them like something valuable that belongs to the whole community. Combined with the new storage cubbies, which keep their materials and workbooks organized, the classroom now runs more smoothly and gives students more time to actually think about math rather than stress about finding supplies.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students access to tools and technology that truly supports their learning.
