These are books that will enable my students who range from 3rd to 11th-grade reading levels to read from a wide range of authors. I hope it inspires them to not only learn about other worlds but themselves and social justice issues that affect them. These books will give students greater insight into those people who struggle with racial inequality, immigration, and characters who wrestle with mental illness. This is a unique opportunity for students to read such texts. Hopefully, with the diverse names of authors and genres, they will use their voices to write their own stories.
