This was a safety issue because anyone in the garden had a tendency to trip over the hose and made it challenging to access the area to clean up any weeds that had grown where the hose was gathered. This also caused the hose to be stepped on constantly which could lead to wearing down or breakage of the hose. Now, after each use of the hose, participants may now reel the hose which also helped to make it neater and made the garden more safe.\r\nFertilizers, worm castings, potting soil:\r\nAdding all these materials made the compost more nutrient rich, providing plants with more opportunity to grow. As each material was added, students used shovels and rakes to mix garden bed soil. As a result, the garden is much healthier and more green!","fullyFundedDate":1769805566145,"projectUrl":"project/nurturing-young-gardeners-with-a-healthy/9844137/","projectTitle":"Nurturing Young Gardeners with a Healthy Garden!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Caguioa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8293908"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36095","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":390,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":90,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"21.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.0,"schoolId":36095,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Castle Park Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Castle Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/chula-vista-elementary-school-district/castle-park-elementary-school/36095"}
