Our music program is finally back in person! My students haven't been able to use our orchestral stringed instruments (violins, violas, cellos, and double basses) for 15 months. Although I could still teach general music over distance learning all last year, our instrumental program was put on hold. Our orchestral strings program is back -help me keep it that way! Every 4th-6th grader will be learning to play an instrument, some of whom will choose to join my orchestra. In the past we have performed for our school, district, and community. Given the amount of time that has passed, these instruments are due for string replacement. Old strings don't sound great, and we are at an interesting juncture. It's like starting over, nearly from scratch. I would so appreciate your help in making these instruments sound the best they can. Let's set up these kids for success and keep music alive in the public schools!
