We are using these new resources daily—whether it's a student taking a few minutes to regulate their emotions, complete classwork in a quieter setting, or simply breathe and regain confidence before rejoining the classroom. One powerful moment that stands out was watching a student who normally shuts down during stressful moments use the space, complete their assignment, and proudly turn it in for the first time all semester.","fullyFundedDate":1746823970316,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-supplies/9250879/","projectTitle":"Classroom Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. A","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9071310_orig.jpg?crop=1186,1186,x0,y150&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1686533957121","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9071310"},{"teacherId":9743078,"projectId":9469996,"letterContent":"Thank you for helping my students get off to a good start of the school year. While the donation may seem like a simple act of providing equipment, the truth is—it has given our students something far more valuable: visibility, permanence, and dignity in their creative journey.\r\n\r\nThis printer has become a bridge between the intangible and the tangible—between what our students imagine and what they can hold in their hands. It allowed us to print our digital surrealism projects, an assignment rooted in self-exploration, identity, and future vision. These weren't just class activities. Each piece was a visual declaration: This is who I am. This is who I hope to become. This is the life I'm reaching toward.\r\n\r\nIn communities like ours, where young people often navigate unseen challenges, the ability to see their ideas professionally printed, polished, and preserved holds incredible power. These students didn't just create art—they created legacy pieces. For many, this was their first time seeing their work presented in a way that felt real, permanent, and worthy of pride. No longer confined to the screen, their visions now exist as physical artifacts they can frame, share, and include in portfolios that may open doors to high schools, internships, scholarships, or creative careers.\r\n\r\nThe surrealism theme added a beautiful layer of depth to this experience. As students crafted collages that bent reality to reflect internal truths, struggles, and dreams, they were also subconsciously participating in a healing practice. They learned that art can hold contradiction. That it can carry pain and possibility in the same frame. That the surreal—when wielded with purpose—can help us name what we cannot yet speak.\r\n\r\nWithout the printer, these pieces may have remained hidden in digital folders, eventually forgotten. But now, they are honored. Tangible. Visible. Seen.\r\n\r\nMoreover, your support communicates to our students that someone out there believes their work matters. That someone values what they're becoming. That someone chose to invest not only in their art, but in their wholeness.","fullyFundedDate":1732133995322,"projectUrl":"project/artistic-excellence-with-epson-ecotank/8488277/","projectTitle":"\"Artistic Excellence with Epson EcoTank\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. La'Shay Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4168502_orig.png?crop=1076,1076,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1662590521026","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/theopenartroom"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_77991","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":396,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":95,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.3,"schoolId":77991,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Carr Lane Vpa Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Carr Lane Vpa Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/st-louis-public-schools/carr-lane-visual-performing-arts-ms/77991"}
