When my second graders first saw the STEM building kits, their faces lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to get their hands on the materials, and right away they started building, talking, and sharing ideas with each other. It was so special to watch students who don't always jump in right away feel confident and eager to participate. For many of them, this was their first time using materials like these, and it truly sparked their curiosity and creativity.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the kits during math, science, and STEM centers, and they have made a huge difference in how students engage with learning. One of our favorite activities was a bridge-building challenge where students worked together to design, test, and improve their creations. They were so proud of themselves as they figured out what worked (and what didn't!) and made changes to make their structures stronger. I loved hearing their conversations as they used problem-solving skills and encouraged one another. We also use the materials for open-ended building time, which has been amazing for helping students think creatively and take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we're excited to keep building on these experiences with new challenges that connect to what we're learning in class. My students are already becoming more confident thinkers and problem-solvers, and they love sharing their ideas.
