My Kindergarten students participate in daily literacy stations to increase fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, phonics, and phonemic awareness. During this time, they participate in individual, partner, and small-group learning. While the students are working independently, it is important for them to stay focused and attentive to their assigned task. In the past, our listening station, computer station, and iPad stations have not had headphones, creating a loud, distracting learning environment for all of the students in the room, making it hard for students to focus and truly achieve at their highest potential. The headphones that I am requesting will allow all students using these technology-based stations to focus solely on their task, as well as allow the students at other stations to not be distracted by the sounds in the technology stations.
