Having reliable equipment not only improves our fundamental skills but also builds confidence and fosters a deeper love for the game. Seeing the excitement on their faces when they opened the new gear was a highlight of our season.\r\n\r\nAt our school, sports are more than just a game; they are a vital space for building character, teamwork, and resilience. Your kindness has directly impacted our ability to create a positive, professional environment for these kids to learn and grow.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and believing in the power of physical education and athletics. Burr Middle School. Your contributions have transformed the way my students approach their well-being, turning our classroom into a space where movement is both a challenge and a joy.\r\n\r\nThe Impact of Your Support\r\nWe are currently utilizing the new resources to power our \"Health RPG\" curriculum—a project we call Project Prometheus. Your donations allowed us to integrate high-quality equipment and instructional materials that have turned standard fitness benchmarks into an immersive narrative experience. By tracking their progress through character sheets and specific physical metrics, students are no longer just \"exercising\"; they are leveling up their health and building habits that will last long after they leave middle school.\r\n\r\nThat First Moment\r\nI wish you could have seen the reaction in the room when the equipment arrived. There was a palpable sense of excitement—almost disbelief—that their \"classroom\" had evolved into something that felt like a professional training facility. Many students commented that they felt like athletes in a high-stakes game rather than just kids in gym class. That initial spark of enthusiasm has remained steady, turning even our toughest endurance drills into moments of collaborative victory.\r\n\r\nLooking Ahead\r\nBecause of your generosity, we aren't stopping here. For our next phase, my students are preparing to take their physical \"levels\" from our indoor sessions out onto the field. We are moving into a series of functional fitness challenges where they will apply the coordination and strength training they've developed to complex, multi-stage obstacle courses. They are eager to see how their \"in-game\" progress translates to real-world agility, and I am confident that these next steps will build the kind of lasting self-confidence that defines the spirit of our physical education program.\r\n\r\nThank you for being such a vital part of my students' journey this year. Your impact goes far beyond the equipment itself; you've given them a reason to engage, to strive, and to take pride in their own growth.","fullyFundedDate":1641863532603,"projectUrl":"project/a-place-for-everything-everything-in-it/6074513/","projectTitle":"A Place for Everything, Everything in Its Place","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blais","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7999433_orig.jpg?crop=216,216,x0,y8&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1782935669749","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sgtblais"},{"teacherId":5902906,"projectId":9210931,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for your generous support of my DonorsChoose project, Rewards for Reading. The chips you helped fund have made a tremendous impact in my classroom by motivating students to engage more deeply with their reading lessons. Students earn Dojo points by scoring 80% or higher on their reading comprehension quizzes and by completing vocabulary lessons. They save their points throughout the month and can redeem them for rewards on the first of each month. The chips, which cost 200 points, have become the most sought-after incentive. Thanks to this system, I've seen a marked increase in student focus, effort, and comprehension scores.\r\nBeyond academic improvements, these positive incentives have also fostered a more supportive and attentive classroom environment. I award points not only for academic achievements but also for behaviors like staying on task, helping peers, and showing perseverance. This approach has significantly reduced disruptions and encouraged students to take pride in their work and behavior. Your contribution has truly transformed how my students approach learning, and I can't thank you enough for helping me create a positive and motivating space for them to grow.","fullyFundedDate":1750866077046,"projectUrl":"project/rewards-for-reading/9210931/","projectTitle":"Rewards for Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hrubiec","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5902906_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734053793912","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5902906"},{"teacherId":9318154,"projectId":9348867,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our students at BMS are already benefiting from the new resources we've been able to provide. In the classroom, we've been using the items in creative ways—students are earning points for positive behavior, attendance, academic effort, and leadership, and then selecting rewards from our student incentive store. One particularly exciting moment was when a group of students worked together to earn enough points to choose a board game for their class. Their faces lit up with pride and excitement as they realized their effort was recognized, and it sparked collaboration, friendly competition, and even a little healthy problem-solving.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the new materials, their reactions were priceless—wide eyes, smiles, and an eagerness to participate in ways we haven't seen before. These simple rewards—a fun pen, a sports ball, or a game—make a big difference in helping students feel motivated, valued, and engaged.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're continuing to integrate the incentive store into daily classroom life. Students are setting goals, tracking progress, and seeing firsthand how effort leads to recognition. With your continued support, we can keep filling the store with items that excite our students, reinforcing positive choices and helping build a school culture where effort is celebrated and every student feels seen.\r\n\r\nBy contributing, you're not just providing supplies—you're investing in the confidence, motivation, and future success of our students.
