The chips you helped fund have made a tremendous impact in my classroom by motivating students to engage more deeply with their reading lessons. Students earn Dojo points by scoring 80% or higher on their reading comprehension quizzes and by completing vocabulary lessons. They save their points throughout the month and can redeem them for rewards on the first of each month. The chips, which cost 200 points, have become the most sought-after incentive. Thanks to this system, I've seen a marked increase in student focus, effort, and comprehension scores.\r\nBeyond academic improvements, these positive incentives have also fostered a more supportive and attentive classroom environment. I award points not only for academic achievements but also for behaviors like staying on task, helping peers, and showing perseverance. This approach has significantly reduced disruptions and encouraged students to take pride in their work and behavior. Your contribution has truly transformed how my students approach learning, and I can't thank you enough for helping me create a positive and motivating space for them to grow.","fullyFundedDate":1750866077046,"projectUrl":"project/rewards-for-reading/9210931/","projectTitle":"Rewards for Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hrubiec","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5902906_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734053793912","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5902906"},{"teacherId":9318154,"projectId":9348867,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our students at BMS are already benefiting from the new resources we've been able to provide. In the classroom, we've been using the items in creative ways—students are earning points for positive behavior, attendance, academic effort, and leadership, and then selecting rewards from our student incentive store. One particularly exciting moment was when a group of students worked together to earn enough points to choose a board game for their class. Their faces lit up with pride and excitement as they realized their effort was recognized, and it sparked collaboration, friendly competition, and even a little healthy problem-solving.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the new materials, their reactions were priceless—wide eyes, smiles, and an eagerness to participate in ways we haven't seen before. These simple rewards—a fun pen, a sports ball, or a game—make a big difference in helping students feel motivated, valued, and engaged.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're continuing to integrate the incentive store into daily classroom life. Students are setting goals, tracking progress, and seeing firsthand how effort leads to recognition. With your continued support, we can keep filling the store with items that excite our students, reinforcing positive choices and helping build a school culture where effort is celebrated and every student feels seen.\r\n\r\nBy contributing, you're not just providing supplies—you're investing in the confidence, motivation, and future success of our students. Our students were so excited to see the library when this school year began! One student even said, \"Now I feel like I go to an actual school now that we have a library. This is extremely exciting and a step in the right direction. \r\n\r\nYour generous donations were used to decorate the library and provide us with valuable supplies to keep the library a clean and organized space. I will continue to use these supplies throughout the school year to keep the space fresh, clean, and well-maintained. \r\n\r\nOur next steps will be to continue to hopefully bring in new books to the library and to continue encouraging our students to read new books! From the first moment they saw the materials come in, their eyes lit up with excitement. One student said, \"Mr. G., is that for us?\"—a moment that perfectly captured the joy and sense of belonging these resources have brought into our room.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the materials in small group sessions focused on self-awareness and emotional expression. In one recent project, students were asked to use modeling clay to make something that is important to them, and when dried, it would be painted to their liking. This led to powerful conversations about what is important to them, identity, and connections. The art projects served not just as an outlet, but as a bridge to deeper understanding and reflection.","fullyFundedDate":1737143293273,"projectUrl":"project/a-heart-for-art/8958639/","projectTitle":"A Heart for Art!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8700382_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733152862534","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8700382"},{"teacherId":9574385,"projectId":8465935,"letterContent":"From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Your incredible generosity in funding our project has transformed our classroom into a vibrant and engaging learning environment. We are so incredibly grateful for your support in providing us with the board games, watercolor paints and brushes, English learning books, comfortable reading seats, and magnet charts that we requested.\r\nBefore your donations, our classroom felt a little...lacking. We were missing those elements that truly spark creativity, collaboration, and a love of learning. Now, it's a completely different story! The board games are a phenomenal hit, fostering teamwork, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills while students are enjoying themselves. The sounds of laughter and focused concentration fill the room during game time.\r\nThe watercolor paints and brushes have unleashed a wave of artistic expression! Students are creating beautiful masterpieces, exploring color theory, and developing their fine motor skills. They are so proud of their artwork, and it's amazing to see their confidence blossom.\r\nThe English learning books are actively engaging my students. They are eager to read the new stories and improve their comprehension skills!\r\nThe addition of the comfortable reading seats has created a cozy and inviting reading corner. Students are now choosing to spend their free time curled up with a book, developing a true love of reading.\r\nThe magnet charts are an excellent tool for visual learning. These charts help students stay focused and are very effective to improve the lesson delivery.\r\nPerhaps the most significant impact is the overall atmosphere in the classroom. The new resources have made our classroom more comfortable, welcoming, and stimulating. Students are more engaged, more excited to learn, and more eager to participate. This is precisely the learning environment I strive to create, and you helped us make it a reality.\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and investing in their futures.
