I have classes of young scholars that are reading significantly below grade level. I need to expand upon my current classroom library to help these students grow as readers and lifelong learners. By supporting this project you will help some kids read for pleasure for the first time in their lives. Struggling readers will build comprehension skills because you gave them High-interest books at their reading level. Students will use the high interest texts to expand upon their background knowledge to create meaning from text. These readers have struggled with reading all of their young lives. Many have simply given up, thinking that they "Can't Read." By funding this project you will give them the lifelong gift of reading.
