At this age, students are tackling more complex projects than ever before, and having the right \"home\" for their supplies makes all the difference. Your donation of pencil pouches, notebook sleeves, and chair caddies has been a total godsend!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, there were literal gasps of excitement. Because our classroom cubbies are so small, my students were used to their materials being cramped or hard to find. When they realized they each had a sturdy caddy for their chair, one student shouted, \"It's like my cubby is on my chair!\" They were so proud to tuck their notebooks and laptops into their new pouches.\r\n\r\nThe biggest change has been the peace in our classroom. In 4th grade, we move quickly between subjects like math and writing.\r\n\r\nA Specific Moment: This morning, when I said, \"Switch to your science writing,\" I didn't hear the usual sound of 25 students moving chairs and running to their cubbies. Instead, they just reached behind them, swapped their folders, and were ready to go in seconds. It has completely eliminated the \"transition chaos.\"\r\n\r\nI am especially thankful for how sturdy and durable these items are. 4th graders can be tough on their gear, but these are holding up beautifully. They aren't just tools; they are teaching my students how to take pride in their workspace.\r\n\r\nNow that we aren't spending time searching for pencils or walking back and forth to cubbies, we are diving into our Mission Projects. My students are currently using their chair caddies to keep their research folders and laptops side-by-side, allowing them to work like \"pro\" researchers right at their desks.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the gift of an organized, focused, and happy classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1762193906426,"projectUrl":"project/pockets-and-pouches-for-organized-learne/9768519/","projectTitle":"Pockets and Pouches for Organized Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chavez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10215959"},{"teacherId":9129243,"projectId":9892685,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students are developing so many important reading skills through our new classroom library. These books support foundational skills such as comprehension, vocabulary development, fluency, and making text-to-self connections. Many of the texts also include strong visuals, predictable patterns, and relatable characters, which help my students access the content, stay engaged, and build confidence as readers. \r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has become more joyful, supportive, and flexible. Students have been reading independently, with partners, and in small groups. My students love having choices, and the updated library allows them to select books that match both their interests and their reading levels. You'll often see students cozy up with a book, excitedly share a favorite page with a classmate, or proudly reread a story they now know by heart.\r\n\r\nSeveral students, in particular, have truly blossomed with the new books. Students who were once hesitant readers are now choosing books independently and asking to read during free time. Others who benefit from visual supports especially enjoy the illustrations and graphic-style texts, which help them better understand the story and feel successful. Seeing my students light up while reading has been incredibly rewarding, and it's all thanks to your support.","fullyFundedDate":1764744148724,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-bright-future-updating-our-c/9892685/","projectTitle":"Building a Bright Future: Updating Our Classroom Library!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Harned","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9129243_orig.png?crop=601,602,x0,y16&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762977605095","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9129243"},{"teacherId":7180744,"projectId":9657572,"letterContent":"My students and I are incredibly grateful for your donation. The little boxes with small items have been a particular hit. My students love how colorful they are. They also have numbers on the outside as well as corresponding dots on the inside. This allows us to incorporate number concepts into our communication therapy. My students love to open the boxes and see what is inside. Both the opening and the finding offer multiple opportunities for communication including requests, commenting, acknowledging, and protesting.\r\n\r\nThe categories game has been essential to expanding my students' vocabularies. They are learning new words, new ways to group words, and making semantic connections to other vocabulary in their environments.\r\n\r\nThe gem toy is also a hit, both for communication therapy and for fine motor skills. The nature of the toy requires students to use two hands in coordination, which can be difficult for my students.
