The gathering rug, the Teachers Pay Teachers empathy resources, and the new printing supplies have completely changed our daily classroom dynamic. While using the smartboard is great for lessons, having physical, printed empathy journals and activities that my students can actually hold and write in makes a much bigger difference for their learning.\r\n\r\nThe biggest hit by far is the new circle rug. Many of my students deal with major daily stresses, including low-income hardships and homelessness, so having a dedicated, cozy spot where they feel safe means the world to them. They get so excited to gather here every single morning for our community circles. It has truly become the center of our classroom—a place where our bilingual students can confidently share their thoughts, listen to each other, and just feel included.\r\n\r\nThese materials have been a game-changer for several of my students who used to struggle with anxiety or stay quiet during class. The comfort of the rug and the hands-on lessons have given them the confidence to open up. I've watched my English Language Learners really open up and make close friendships while working through these activities. By funding this project, you didn't just buy materials—you gave my resilient students a safe space where they can focus on their emotional growth and feel proud of who they are.","fullyFundedDate":1726774742653,"projectUrl":"project/educating-with-heart-creating-a-classro/8695624/","projectTitle":"Educating With Heart: Creating a Classroom That Teaches Compassion","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8492243_orig.png?crop=876,876,x307,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724355250878","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-eileen-lee"},{"teacherId":1392361,"projectId":9654429,"letterContent":"My students and I were so excited to receive our yoga mats!
