Before this initiative, encouraging consistent attendance was an ongoing challenge. However, once students learned about the opportunity to earn entries toward winning a PS5, we saw a significant increase in both attendance and engagement. Tutoring sessions quickly filled, and students began showing up not only more frequently, but with a renewed sense of purpose and motivation to succeed.\r\n\r\nBeyond the numbers, the shift in student attitude was just as powerful. Students were excited talking about tutoring in the hallways, reminding each other to attend, and encouraging their peers to stay committed. What started as an incentive quickly became a culture of accountability and academic focus. The PS5 served as a spark, but the true outcome was students investing more in their learning and taking pride in their progress.\r\n\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly thankful for the generosity of our DonorsChoose supporters. Their contribution not only increased tutoring participation but also uplifted student morale and strengthened our school community. This impact will extend far beyond the incentive itself, leaving a lasting impression on our students' academic journeys.","fullyFundedDate":1740507634089,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-ps5-rewards-for-academic-achiev/9110837/","projectTitle":"Game On: PS5 Rewards for Academic Achievement","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Barron","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6315785_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1646842457693","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/blanca-barron"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17931","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1007,"numTeachers":95,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":99,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"10.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.6,"schoolId":17931,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bowie High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bowie High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/el-paso-independent-school-district/bowie-high-school/17931"}
