My goal is to be able to provide my students with the opportunity to come into my classroom sit on comfy pillows, a bean bag seat or the rug, pick up a book, do their homework, enjoy some "me time", or relax from this bustling world. They do not have to worry about all the difficult responsibilities that are laid into their hearts and minds once they leave school, at least for a moment. My classroom will be their safe haven or safe place from the world's troubles. They will continue to be students, kids, children, young adults, and not adults before their time. As students, they need to pick up a book and read in a place where they feel safe. I believe this will help them with state testings and their education. Our children are growing up in a world full of hate and unbalance, may my classroom be a tiny piece zen or tranquility for them. Thank you very much.
