Our 3D construction class was able to use the new fuse bead materials to create some christmas ornaments. Paint brushes, canvas pads, and sketchbooks were used by all of my painting, drawing, and printmaking students to create new projects and test new materials.\r\n\r\nPrintmaking students are loving that they have a designated area for their brayers and all other tools they use during our projects. Having our brayers hanging will keep the rubber from being damaged or indented and will increase the lifespan of our tools. This has also encouraged students to take accountability for the treatment of the shared classroom tools. \r\n\r\nStudents kept wondering over the amount of boxes that were delivered to our room and even more excited when they learned that these new supplies were for their classes. The students in my classroom have some of the biggest struggles learning how to regulate their emotions and finding acceptable ways to get our their frustrations. The biggest hit for our students have been the large bouncy balls that they are able to jump on and get some big movements in while still in the classroom!\r\n\r\nAnother favorite has been the Sorry game and the Uno game! These games are great ways for us to have a little fun, while working on much needed social skills at the same time. We practice taking turns, encouraging others, being ok with disappointment, and congratulating someone else when they win. Students are interacting with each other. I witnessed a student show other students how to play the dominoes game, Mexican Train. I have students borrowing UNO cards to play together during lunch. If we have down time at the end of class, Q-Bitz is a fun spatial-awareness puzzle students can play in a short amount of time.\r\n\r\nThese games are being played by my students and are also being utilized by my math colleague in her classroom. Even our government teacher has asked to borrow the Pay Day game to use with her students as part of her Financial Literacy unit.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is impacting more students than originally anticipated, and I am overjoyed with the student interactions and relationship-building that is resulting from your financial support.\r\n\r\nI wish you could witness the leadership, laughter and excitement of our students as they teach each other games and learn new skills while competing in good fun!
