These resources helped bring science, technology, engineering, and math to life in a hands-on, engaging way that supported deeper understanding and excitement for learning. My students were not just passive learners—they became problem-solvers, inventors, and collaborators. The games encouraged critical thinking and teamwork as students worked together to build structures, complete challenges, and explore real-world problems.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful outcomes was the increase in student confidence. Many of my students who typically struggled in traditional academic settings found success and joy through the interactive nature of STEM materials. They were able to experiment, make mistakes, and try again in a safe and supportive environment. This built resilience and a growth mindset, which carried over into other subjects.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, STEM games sparked curiosity and creativity. I saw students asking questions, exploring multiple solutions, and applying their knowledge in new ways. They began to see themselves as capable scientists, engineers, and thinkers. The collaborative nature of many STEM activities also helped strengthen classroom relationships and improve communication skills.","fullyFundedDate":1688775200725,"projectUrl":"project/expanding-our-stem-knowledge/7234171/","projectTitle":"Expanding Our Stem Knowledge","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ahlmer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsahlmer"},{"teacherId":7124437,"projectId":9183540,"letterContent":"Thank you for helping me foster a better learning enviorment for my students! The funds were used to purchase writing supplies, provide access to publishing software, and bring in guest authors who mentored the students through the creative process. Students worked diligently through each stage of writing—from brainstorming and drafting to editing and finalizing their stories—while learning valuable skills in storytelling, grammar, and revision. These resources and experiences helped build their confidence and fostered a love for writing.\r\n\r\nThe highlight of the project was the publication of a class anthology that featured original stories from every student. Donations covered the cost of printing and distributing copies to students and their families, allowing each child to hold a professionally bound book with their name in print. Seeing their work published not only validated their hard work but also inspired many to pursue writing with renewed passion. This initiative turned a classroom project into a life-changing experience, showing students that their voices matter and that their creativity can make a lasting impact.","fullyFundedDate":1715362005059,"projectUrl":"project/budding-authors/8146258/","projectTitle":"Budding Authors","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ahlmer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsahlmer"},{"teacherId":9890665,"projectId":9053115,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation this school year. Instead of feeling stuck in a regular chair, students can gently rock, twist, or lean, which helps them release extra energy. This movement keeps their bodies active without distracting others. Many students who used to tap their pencils, shift in their seats, or get up often now stay in one place but still get the movement they need. As a result, they can concentrate better on their work and stay engaged in lessons.\r\n\r\nAnother great benefit of wobble chairs is that they help students feel more comfortable. Sitting still for long periods can be hard, but these chairs make it easier by allowing small, natural movements. When students feel more comfortable, they are less likely to lose focus or feel restless. The wobble chairs also help build core strength and improve posture, which is important for growing bodies. Overall, they create a better learning environment by giving students a way to fidget without being disruptive, helping everyone stay on task and do their best!\r\nMy students have loved this addition to our classroom.
