As we all know, hands-on learning is far more engaging and interactive for students to be active learners instead of passive learners. By having math manipulatives, you are providing them with the foundational, concrete skills that they need to learn basic math skills.\r\n\r\nIn our shapes unit, we will be using the Geoboards to help build shapes. Research has shown us that kinesthetic motion of creating and building shapes is critical in building math conceptual understanding. We will learn the names of 2D shapes as well as discuss vertices and sides. \r\n\r\nIn our measuring unit, we are now going to provide every child with access to measure objects themselves when they are provided with the measuring tapes. This will give them hands-on, real life experience that they will use into the future. \r\n\r\nIn our money unit, we are going to have access to counting dollar bills and practice life skills of counting money. My kiddos loveeeeee everything you helped provide for them and the classroom is super fun and exciting for them! We use alllll of the fun things you got for us and can't thank you enough!\r\n\r\nThe handbells are fun for allllll of my classes, the boomwhackers have taught us harmony, chord structure, musical notes of melody and been so fun and engaging for them. \r\n\r\nThe colorful bin we use for organization and each student has been an agent for handing out items and they use it for crayons, little scissors, glue sticks, expo markers and bandaids if they get a boo boo. \r\n\r\nThe dance scarves are so much fun for teaching form and musical movement in the classroom and so much more!","fullyFundedDate":1719076296615,"projectUrl":"project/it-takes-a-village-be-a-part-of-it/8463457/","projectTitle":"It Takes a Village!
