Your contributions have set up our year for success. I used the binding machine to help me and my team stay up to date on our daily math lessons. I bound the first and second math units into their own books. This has streamlined our planning and implementation of the lessons. I am looking forward to using it to bind student stories later in the year (after our writing unit). \r\n\r\nThe new laminating pouches have worked so well. We are learning to write our numbers from 0-10 and the pouches erase so easily. We are able to play tic-tac-numbers over and over again! I included photos of the students playing the game. They loved it!!\r\n\r\nWe also love the noise cancelling headphones. They allow us to focus on our own work and take control of our nervous systems. Flexible seating has helped students find spaces where they can feel comfortable, focused and ready to learn. Students who need movement are able to choose seating that allows them to stay engaged, while others benefit from having a consistent workspace where they can concentrate. Headphones have also been especially helpful during independent work, allowing students to use educational technology, practice literacy and math skills and work without being distracted by surrounding noise. These simple supports have helped create a classroom environment where students are better able to focus and participate in learning.\r\n\r\nThe additional tools, including mesh bags for organizing headphones and whiteboards for independent practice, have also helped my students develop greater independence. Kindergarten students are learning how to manage their own materials, make choices and take responsibility for their learning, and these resources give them opportunities to practice those skills every day. I have seen students become more confident as they independently gather their materials, choose a workspace that works for them and complete tasks with less adult support.
