Flexible seating has helped students find spaces where they can feel comfortable, focused and ready to learn. Students who need movement are able to choose seating that allows them to stay engaged, while others benefit from having a consistent workspace where they can concentrate. Headphones have also been especially helpful during independent work, allowing students to use educational technology, practice literacy and math skills and work without being distracted by surrounding noise. These simple supports have helped create a classroom environment where students are better able to focus and participate in learning.\r\n\r\nThe additional tools, including mesh bags for organizing headphones and whiteboards for independent practice, have also helped my students develop greater independence. Kindergarten students are learning how to manage their own materials, make choices and take responsibility for their learning, and these resources give them opportunities to practice those skills every day. I have seen students become more confident as they independently gather their materials, choose a workspace that works for them and complete tasks with less adult support. This is the first year my class has won \"Attendance Champs\" and I think the air purifier is partially responsible for our success. In order to win, the class has to have perfect attendance for the week, we were SO EXCITED to win and I was so happy to have all my students here to learn!\r\n\r\nThe math manipulatives, dry erase boards and life size hopscotch have made class more hands on and fun. We love hoping on our hopscotch board while we count and picking our favorite sea creatures to build our numbers. The dry erase boards erase like a dream and we are always excited to use them to draw our thinking.\r\n\r\nYour contributions have made the class healthier, happier and more independent.
